I. Waking the Ghost
The mechanism sleeps until you click "Awaken Mechanism". This grants permission for the audio to enter the room.
II. The Heartbeat
The Heartbeat switch controls the tick and tock, once a second. The logic is anchored to never skip a beat or "double tock".
III. Resonance
How loudly the clock speaks: one dial for the tick, the chimes and the hour bell together.
IV. Reading the Quarters
Quarter past rings one phrase, half past two, quarter to three. On the hour all four play, then the bell strikes the hour. You can tell the time without looking.
V. Strike Delay
How long after the hour's chime begins the first strike comes, up to 20 seconds. The bell never strikes over the tune: a short setting simply waits for it to finish.
VI. Out of Sight
Leave the clock in a background tab and it keeps time while you work. In headphones it is yours alone: a metronome in the tick, a timepiece in the chimes.
VII. Night Mode
Define your silence hours (e.g., 22 to 7). Look for the ๐ icon in the status to know if the clock is resting.
VIII. The Numerals
Roman Numerals sets the dial as on an old longcase clock, each numeral turned to face the centre, so VI stands on its head. Switch it off for plain numbers, all upright.
IX. Persistence
Click SAVE to bind your settings to memory. The clock will remember your preferences upon its next awakening.
